Radon Map

The Technical Building Code (CTE DB-HS6) establishes radon exposure zones in Spain. Each municipality is classified according to its radon potential, determining the mandatory protection requirements for new constructions.

Consult the interactive map to find out the classification of your municipality and the required protection measures. Regardless of the zone, we always recommend taking a measurement to know the actual radon levels in your home or workplace.

Methodology and sources

Municipal radon zone classification according to Appendix B of Basic Document DB-HS6 on protection against radon, of the Spanish Building Code (CTE).

Workplace regulation (Royal Decree 1029/2022, together with the technical instructions of the Nuclear Safety Council) uses this same municipal classification as the reference to identify workplaces required to assess radon exposure.

The municipal classification is complemented by ground lithology: the geological map shows the probability of elevated radon beneath each specific location within the municipality.
